What is Privileged Access Management?

Privileged Access Management (PAM) refers to systems that securely manages accounts of users who have elevated permissions to critical, corporate resources. It can be human administrators, devices, applications, and other types of users. PAM is also known as Privileged Session Management or Privileged Account Management.

Features of PAM

  • Finding all instances of privileged accounts at both user and application levels, so they can be managed
  • Making passwords available on-demand to applications
  • Storing privileged account passwords securely, and allowing to be monitored during check- in, check- out sessions
  • Auto change in passwords – periodically or after session use
