What is Biometric Authentication?
Behavioural Analytics is a security technique that establishes a baseline of normal activity for users and devices, then continuously monitors for deviations that could signal a breach or insider threat. By analysing patterns such as login times, data access volumes, application usage, and network activity, behavioural analytics tools can flag unusual actions like an employee downloading thousands of files at 2am or a service account accessing systems it has never touched before. This approach is especially effective at catching threats that bypass traditional signature-based detection, including compromised credentials being used by an attacker who is deliberately mimicking legitimate behaviour.
